Kym Greeley and Erika Stephens-Moore



Kym Greeley is a St. John's-based artist born and raised in Topsail, NL, Canada. With process a priority in her work, Greeley draws inspiration from landscapes to create screenprinted paintings. She graduated from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in 1997, and studied at the Cooper Union School for the Advancement of Art and Science in New York in 1996.


Her work has been exhibited in commercial, artist-run, and publicly-funded galleries. Her work is included in the Newfoundland Provincial Art Bank Collection, Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, The Rooms Provincial Art Gallery, and the Canada Council Art Bank. Within the St. John's arts community, Greeley has served on juries awarding arts grants and has been a board member and tireless volunteer for several artist-run galleries. Greeley's work is represented by Christina Parker Gallery.


Erika Stephens-Moore was born in Barrie, Ontario, and is now based in St. John’s Newfoundland. Her artistic studies began in Ontario at Georgian College (2003–2005), and then continued at Nova Scotia College of art and Design (2012–present). Studies in Berlin at Weissensee Kunsthochschule took place in 2013–2014.


A love for outdoor environments has inspired prints and many paintings and drawings that celebrate the varied elements and ambiance of a landscape situation. Her work has been shown in artist run centres and commercial Galleries in Ontario, and Newfoundland and Nova Scotia. She has been awarded grants from St. John’s city and Newfoundland and Labrador arts council. Erika’s work is in both private and provincial government collections. Erika is represented by the Christina Parker Gallery in St. John’s Newfoundland.







Interest in landscape is in common, but approach to and translation of the same place is explored within different avenues and modes of art making. Our interest in the textural qualities of the Newfoundland environment, and the process of screen-printing brought us together in 2008. Years later our collaborative practice has evolved to incorporate our artistic strengths from within our independent art practices. An understanding of a common aesthetic established confidence in the collective endpoint, and the individuality has been liberated as a result. Themes and aesthetic are shared, and then the drawn line, the photograph, the landscape come together in the method of Printmaking or digital imaging. Together we then explore the textures and traditions of Newfoundland, the landscape as well as the unique approach to life reflected in the folk-art, furniture, architecture and textiles.
